Chartered Accountancy as a Profession

The Chartered Accountancy course is a widely–recognized professional course, calling for systematic effort and sincere study from the aspiring student. There are four stages of academic preparation and examinations in order to become a Chartered Accountant. These are
Common Proficiency Test is an entry level examination for admission to the Chartered Accountancy Course. Though a student is allowed to register for the CPT course after his/her 10th Standard, only those students who have appeared in their 10 + 2 examinations are eligible to appear at the CPT examinations. The course involves a blend of theoretical education and practical training which run concurrently for a period of three years and equips a student with knowledge, ability, skills and other qualities required of a professional accountant.
This test consists of 200 questions spread across 4 sections. Total duration is 4 hours. The test is subdivided into sections :

- Infotech Training (ITT) and Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) Exams,
- Articleship Training, and
- Final Exams.

- Mercantile Law (40 questions)
